About the Jam

The Yoobee Colleges Christchurch Campus is jam-packed with computer labs and spaces for creative jamming! The site is positioned very close to South City Mall, with plenty of cafes and eateries nearby, plus drinks and snacks provided. We have a kitchen and bathrooms onsite, and plenty of space for relaxing over the weekend. During late hours access passes may be required for entry, these will be provided subject to Yoobees Security Policy

There will be computers available on-site in Yoobee’s designated Kiwijam rooms. Unreal Engine, Unity, Blender, Maya, plus a smattering of other tools will be available, but please keep in mind you will be unable to install anything new on the Yoobee computers.

We won’t be open overnight, so you’ll need to make arrangements to get home 🙂

Friday

  • 6:00 pm – Pre-Kiwijam gathering
  • 6:15 pm – Sign-in desk opens
  • 6:30 pm – Welcome presentation & official kick-off
  • 7:00 pm – Team-forming & pizza
  • 11:00 pm – Venue closes for the night
Saturday
  • 10:00 am – Venue opens
  • 10:30 am – Morning announcements
  • 5:30 pm – Dinner
  • 11:00 pm – Venue closes for the night
Sunday
  • 10:00 am – Venue opens
  • 10:30 am – Morning announcements
  • 4:30 pm – Deadline for submissions!
  • 4:45 pm – Show & Tell (check out each other’s projects)
  • 6:30 pm – Pack up & closing
You’re welcome to stay for as much or as little as you’d like, but we recommend sticking around for the show & tell if you can! You will need to make your own arrangements for transport home on Friday and Saturday nights, as we’re unable to provide a supervised space to sleep overnight, and will be closing up the Kiwijam space when the CGDA event hosts & volunteers are finished for the day.

The Yoobee College Campus is located near on Colombo Street, near the South City Mall in the Christchurch CBD. You will be able to enter through the main entrances at the Yoobee building, and there will be signs/people inside to point you in the right direction! The site is located very close to the Central Bus Exchange, and there is on-street parking all around the area.
